For decades, Blake Lively has been an absolute style fixture, starting when she played the Upper East Side’s fashion it-girl, Serena van der Woodsen, on the hit teen drama Gossip Girl. Even after the show wrapped in 2012, the actor never stopped flexing her sartorial muscles. From Met Galas to movie premieres, she’s undeniably a red carpet force to be reckoned with, as her playful, statement-making outfit choices often set the internet ablaze. (Her love for bright colors and bold prints is unwavering.) Lively is also famously one of very few A-listers who doesn’t work with a stylist—in other words, she’s behind all her headline-making looks. Scroll on for 25 of the most memorable Blake Lively style moments of all time, from her early aughts beginnings to her modern style icon status.
Betty Blooms Pop-Up Event Promoting 'It Ends with Us' (2024)
As part of her press tour circuit, Lively stopped by the Betty Blooms pop-up in New York. There, she channeled the Barbiecore trend with her hotter-than-hot pink mini dress from indie brand Dauphinette. To give the outfit some extra pizzazz, she layered the label’s floral chainmail top over the number and finished with a coordinating jacket and pumps.
'Deadpool & Wolverine' Premiere (2024)
Supporting husband Ryan Reynolds at the premiere of his film Deadpool & Wolverine, Lively had everyone talking when she hit the red carpet alongside Gigi Hadid. The Gossip Girl alum sported a deep red Atelier Versace jumpsuit (which nodded to Reynolds' Deadpool character), while the model opted for a mustard yellow Miu Miu bandana top and knee-length skirt (a homage to Hugh Jackson’s Wolverine costume).
Taylor Swift's Birthday Outing (2023)
Though Lively usually opts for vibrant colors, she threw a sartorial curveball at Taylor Swift’s birthday bash last December. Strutting down the Manhattan sidewalks arm-in-arm with Swift, Lively paired an edgy, form-fitting leather Michael Kors dress with lace-up Christian Louboutin boots.
New York City Street Style (2023)
Last fall, Lively brought some much-needed sunshine to Manhattan with her vibrant yellow ensemble. She tripled down on the mood-boosting color, wearing a Leset v-neck polo, Louis Vuitton Capucines BB Bag, and Jvb x Nomasei Trench loafers. The actor grounded the striking street style look with straight-leg jeans.
Michael Kors Spring 2024 Show (2023)
A longtime style muse for Michael Kors, Lively turned heads at the designer’s spring 2024 show in a shimmering gold jumpsuit, which boasted a low neckline and a wide-leg silhouette. A skinny (and super long) leather belt lent a sophisticated feel to the eye-catching number.
Met Gala (2022)
When it comes to best-dressed celebrities at the Met Gala, Lively is consistently at the top of the list—and this look from 2022 is one of her best. The Blake Brown founder shut down the red carpet in a bronze, crystal-encrusted Versace creation (which then unraveled to reveal green accents), in tribute to the Statue of Liberty.
'The Adam Project' Premiere (2022)
Never one to shy away from an attention-commanding fashion moment, Lively made quite the entrance at the premiere of The Adam Project in a flowing, cotton candy-colored Atelier Versace gown. Though the dress was bold on its own, the style icon upped the ante with white dangly earrings and a medley of statement-making bracelets.
Michael Kors Fall 2022 Show (2022)
Lively was a vision in this three-piece periwinkle Michael Kors ensemble, which she wore to the designer’s fall 2022 runway show. Her stark white accessories—strappy stilettos and a rectangular-shaped clutch—added a polished touch to the wintery look.
'Free Guy' Premiere (2021)
Lively is always by her husband’s side—in the most fabulous looks, naturally. Such was the case in 2021 when the actor was seen at the premiere of Reynolds’ film Free Guy. For the memorable occasion, she brought the drama in a sparkly pink cutout dress from Prabal Gurung.

'Good Morning America' Appearance (2020)
Not even a frigid New York City winter can stop Lively from turning up in a scene-stealing ensemble. Case in point: In January 2020, the star arrived at Good Morning America in a bright blue fluffy Max Mara coat, a floral Ulyana Sergeenko dress, and sky-high Christian Louboutin heels.
'Pokémon Detective Pikachu' Premiere (2019)
Lively’s appearance on the red (sorry, yellow) carpet for the Pokémon Detective Pikachu premiere made headlines, and rightfully so. At the event, the actor debuted her baby bump—she was expecting her third child at the time—in a sequin dress courtesy of Retrofête.
Versace Pre-Fall 2019 Show (2018)
One thing to know about Lively’s style: She has a soft spot for sparkly looks, as exhibited by this dazzling number at Versace’s pre-fall 2019 show. Dipping into the fashion house’s archives, Lively sat front row in a silver chainmail dress from spring 1999. As if her number wasn’t show-stopping enough, she took the outfit up a notch (err, two) with studded Christian Louboutin pumps.
Met Gala (2018)
Surprise, surprise—the Met Gala veteran struck again at the 2018 "Heavenly Bodies" event, where she stole the show in a regal red crimson Versace look that took a whopping 600 hours to create. It boasted embroidery, a jewel-adorned bodice, and a floor-sweeping train.
'Good Morning America' Appearance (2017)
Lively always looks phenomenal in vivid yellow outfits, and this jumpsuit for Good Morning America was certainly no exception. The one-piece look from Brandon Maxwell’s spring 2018 collection featured oversized long sleeves, wide-leg pants, and a coordinating belt.
New York City Street Style (2016)
Here, Lively made the case for dressing down a breezy gown with a casual denim jacket. To make the look into an effortless statement, she played with color, working turquoise earrings and zig-zag printed pumps into the off-duty outfit.
Cannes Film Festival (2014)
For the Mr.Turner premiere at Cannes, Lively wore an iridescent mint green Chanel couture dress with embroidery, sequins, and tulle. From there, she let the dreamy frock do all the talking, accenting it with soft pink Sophia Webster heels.
Van Cleef & Arpels Event (2013)
Oozing glamour, Lively made an appearance at the unveiling of Van Cleef & Arpels’ redesigned 5th Avenue flagship boutique, wearing a chic lace black Marchesa gown complete with floral embroidery.
'Savages' Premiere (2012)
Back in 2012, Lively cemented herself as a burgeoning fashion girl at the Savages premiere, when she arrived in an Old Hollywood-inspired black and nude beaded Zuhair Murad strapless dress. Lorraine Schwartz baubles elevated the look even further, as did her classic curls and red manicure.
Met Gala (2011)
On the heels of becoming a Chanel ambassador, Lively opted for a silver-accented couture gown from the storied house for the 2011 Met Gala. Her strawberry-blonde locks garnered plenty of attention on the red carpet, too.
Emmy Awards (2009)
Lively turned up the heat at the 2009 Emmys, matching the red carpet in a Versace dress with a plunging neckline, high slit, and a smattering of sequins. By keeping her accessories minimal, she allowed the gown to take the spotlight.
Ralph Lauren Fall 2009 Show (2009)
Though this brown and gray mash-up for Ralph Lauren’s fall 2009 show is a detour from Lively’s usual color-heavy looks, it wasn’t any less fashion-forward—and it’s a prime example of how neutral outfits still have plenty of room for creativity.
Valentino Spring 2008 Couture Show (2008)
Looking every bit the Parisian street style star in her peak Gossip Girl era, Lively attended Valentino’s spring 2008 haute couture show in an off-the-shoulder mini dress from the luxury label.
Met Gala (2008)
For her Met Gala debut, Lively took to the coveted steps in a strapless, feather-adorned Ralph Lauren confection. Her matching gloves took the ensemble to the next level.
'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' Premiere (2005)
A premiere for your breakthrough role calls for an unforgettable red carpet look, and Lively’s orange satin dress here is exactly that. We’d be remiss if we didn’t also mention her accessories—the chunky bangles and extra-long pearl necklace scream early aughts.
Kids' Choice Awards (2005)
An oldie but a goodie, this quintessentially Y2K outfit from the Kids’ Choice Awards will forever be seared into our brains. Around 18 at the time, Lively made a casual-cool statement in a cropped graphic tee, low-rise jeans, and pastel pink pumps. One word: Iconic.
