Anything Rihanna touches turns to gold. Her makeup brand Fenty Beauty continues to be a major player in the beauty industry, while her street style always amazes us. Not to mention, she’s a mother of two (or just simply, Mother). If it’s Rihanna-approved, consider it the coolest of cool. So, when the 36-year-old just put her stamp of approval on one of spring’s biggest manicure trends, we immediately booked a trip to the nail salon.
On April 11. Rihanna stepped out in a look that was perfectly Rihanna. The singer was spotted leaving a celebration at The Nice Guy restaurant donning not one, but two major spring trends. She left her bright blonde hair long and loose, and styled a leopard print mini dress with a sweeping matching coat, fuzzy bag, and black pumps. RiRi gave the controversial print the golden touch for the perfect night-out outfit. And, it wouldn’t be a classic Rihanna look without an interesting feature. In this case, it was a purple two-toned manicure, which added a cheeky pop of color to her bold look.
If you look real close, you’ll notice the “Work” singer’s lavender manicure with a deep purple French tip. Although the manicure feels maximalist in nature, accompanied by her outfit, it’s quite subtle. While the two-toned mani might feel bold to those adverse to color, it adds a fun touch.
On the list of this spring’s nail trends, the two-toned manicure leans more casual. “When it comes to nail art, the key word for Spring 2024 is ‘tonal,’” Olivia Van Iderstine, Olive & June’s VP of Content & Creative and Mani Trend Expert, shared with Byrdie. “You’ll see a lot of looks that play in variations of the same color family.”
Aside from her nails, the rest of her makeup was minimal. She wore a glossy brown lip that we’d wager is definitely Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb. Although her eyes are covered by her retro tortoiseshell sunnies, there’s a hint of sparkle on her lid. And to go with her ’90s-esque cheetah print dress, she opted for skinny brows.
