It’s funny now to think that at a certain point in time, you never really knew what color Kylie Jenner’s hair would be. Though now she is almost always spotted with her classic jet black waves, when she was King Kylie, it was always something new—blonde, pink, blue; you name it. Recently, it seems as though the mogul has been feeling nostalgic for her 2014 era. First, she tried out Tumblr pastel pink hair, and now she has a fiery new red hairstyle that she wore with matching red nails.
On March 18, Jenner’s brand Kylie Cosmetics, posted a photo of the star in a new look. The focus was not just on her extreme—but clearly temporary—hair change, but also her flashy outfit and just as flashy nails.
Though the entire look made us do a double take in the best way, we have to talk about the hair first. Back in the Snapchat era we had seen the star in red hair more times than we could count—dark maroon, pastel red, and gingery auburn, to name a few. However, of all the red hair colors she wore, bangs never made an appearance.
In her current bright red cherry hue, Kylie’s hair traveled all the way down to below her chest. She styled it pin straight from root to end. Also, of course, styling her bangs just as straight. Jenner’s new faux bangs were piecey, wispy, a little edgy, and had multiple lengths. Still showing the bulk of her forehead, some strands reached all the way to her eyelashes, and some stayed above her eyebrows. The multi-length strands are what gave the look its dimension and edge.
To go with the new red hue, Jenner brought the color to her fingertips in a chrome variety. With medium length, squared off nails, each of her fingertips matched with the same deep red color. A tad bit darker the the color of her hair and outfit, it was made even edgier with the addition of red chrome on top. The reflective finish made the polish appear more maroon than red, but the vibes matched the rest of her look completely.
Jenner finished off her cherry ensemble with a bandeau top the exact same color as her hair, a blingy choker, and, of course, with some red makeup. The star lined her lips with a cherry color, also bringing a similar shade to her cheeks for a pretty flush.
