Megan Fox’s ‘Alien Chrome’ Nails Are Out of This World

ET, phone home. Or actually, do you have Megan Fox’s number? Phone her if you can, because we need to talk about her latest manicure.

On April 3, Fox shared a new Instagram post premiering her fresh “blue jeans”-colored bob. “Entering my Jedi era” she wrote as the post’s caption, failing to mention that if you swiped left you’d come across a similarly ingenious matching nail look.

Crafted by her regular nail artist, Brittney Boyce, the silvery “alien” chrome manicure appears semi-transparent. Worn long and almond-shaped, it’s the exact style I’d imagine an extraterrestrial would request if they touched down in Los Angeles and decided to sneak in for a quick spa appointment.

While Fox’s beauty is out of this world, her hair and nail color are both easily emulated right here on planet earth. While sharing his client’s brand new shade on April 2, stylist Dimitris Giannetos revealed that he’d actually used box dye to get the look: L’Oreal Paris’s FÉRIA hair color in the smoky blue shade Sapphire Smoke ($13) to be exact.

After removing the pink from her hair (Fox has been a bubblegum girl the last few months), Giannetos applied the new color, ending up with a “smoky, icy” shade that matches the Jennifer’s Body star’s eyes. Still, it’s worth noting that the stylist didn’t divulge all the products he used. I can’t promise the same results at home.

That intergalactic mani is perhaps a little easier to DIY. If you’re going to the salon, it’s easy enough to ask for a transparent silver chrome mani (perhaps with a bit of glitter to get the full space-y effect—you don’t want them to look like solid metal). If you’re working from home, Olive & June’s OJPAS ($9) is a great option.

Now, do you think blue-haired Megan Fox will return to the mothership, or is she here to stay? Either way, one thing's for sure: our world will never be the same.
