Megan Fox’s Blush Aura Nails Are Her Girliest Manicure Yet

We pretty much worship at the altar of Megan Fox’s manicures here at Byrdie. The actor-turned-author just has a knack for wearing the coolest, often a little edgy, nail looks that we can’t help but put on our mood boards. Some of her best? A solid gold manicure, a studded “devil red” nail look, tattoo nails, and a set inspired by her star sign. All those, plus her freshly debuted blush aura manicure that we can’t stop thinking about.

On March 11, Fox’s go-to nail artist, Brittney Boyce, posted a short video of her latest creation for the star. Boyce and Fox are regular collaborators, creating all the previously mentioned looks and then some. However, this marked a rather minimalist, simple look for the pair—much more subdued than the over-the-top manis previously mentioned.

Though the design was a little different, the shape was the duo’s go-to. Each of Fox’s nails matched with a medium-long length and an almond shape. On top, though, was the perfect pink blush shade we think will be everywhere this spring, painted in an aura-like design.

Fox’s blush aura nails—like all aura nails—started with a base color different from the glowing aura at the center. In the case of this set, Fox’s nails started with a creamy off-white base covering her nails from cuticle to tip. Then, at the center of each of them, a soft pink orb caught our attention. The same color her cheeks would be if she pinched them; the aura effect was the perfect flushed pink hue. Since they are aura nails, the pink was thickest at the center and slowly faded out until it merged with the white base. The end result also created a French tip-like effect thanks to the white base shade.

If we had to guess where Fox got the inspiration for her nails, her new pink hair might be the logical place to start. At the Grammys, Fox debuted a marshmallow pink shag haircut. Done by her favorite hairstylist, Dimitris Giannetos, the new look was a huge change from her usually jet-black hair. The pink shade is nearly the same blush hue as her freshly debuted nails, so we can’t help but think they played some part in the inspiration for the look.

To go with the manicure (presumably for one of the many Oscars afterparties taking place that evening), Giannetos styled the pink shag in a wet look. Parted down the middle, her hair appeared damp to the touch and grazed her chest. Then, Fox finished off the look with a black turtleneck and a thick, dark cat eye.
