Megan Thee Stallion’s Butterfly Chrome Nails Are Going Straight to Our Spring Mood Board

Another day, another Megan Thee Stallion manicure so sharp it could cut us. The rap superstar just loves her ultra-long, pointy talons—the more eccentric the design, the better. Need proof? Look no further than her Burn Book-inspired Mean Girls manicure, hyper-realistic bloody fang nails, optical illusion set, and snakeskin-embellished mani. All of these were done on ultra-long and sharp silhouettes, just like her most recent reflective design.

On March 5, Thee Stallion posted another Instagram carousel from her trip to Tokyo. Though her previous snaps from the excursion were full of the anime-inspired looks she wore to the Crunchyroll Anime Awards—including a brand new bob—this latest look is simply what she wore to parade around the Japanese metropolis in style. What did it include? The same bob, butterfly rhinestone tattoos, and the center our attention, butterfly blue chrome nails.

Much like her aforementioned manicures, this new look started with a long, super pointy, stiletto-shaped base. An eye-catching, fierce electric blue, the shade she chose wasn’t a light and airy hue by any means. It was rich, deep, and almost electric, drawing us in with a mesmerizing chrome effect.

Though both bright blue and chrome nails are nothing new, we have truly never seen a mani like this. Paired with the chrome effect, the deep blue shade looked exactly like a blue morpho butterfly’s wings. It also happened to perfectly match the rhinestone butterflies she studded across her body.

In a similar, albeit lighter, shade as her nails, Meg added five crystal butterflies of various sizes to her body—three on her back and four on her chest. The three multi-size butterflies on her back were what she showed off the most in her post, and the tattoos that most matched her electric blue claws.

Made up of a few shades of blue, diamond and circle-shaped rhinestones decorated her shoulder blades and spine. The bigger of the two butterflies was on her spine, the middle-sized one on her shoulder, and the teeniest, tiniest one was underneath the biggest one—no more than one simple gemstone.

On her chest the butterflies got more multi-colored. Still made up of the same materials and in the same formation, these designs had some yellow, green, and gray thrown into the mix making for a more multi-colored insect. She finished off the look with a silver two-piece set that added to the fantasy.
