Nicola Peltz Beckham’s Chocolate Manicure Is the Sophisticated Shade to Try This Spring

We can always count on Nicola Peltz Beckham to deliver the best of the best minimalist manicures. Whether she is trying out a classic pink French moment, modeling on the cover of our Travel Issue with a lavender swirl look, or getting a little edgy with long jet-black nails, there is always a simple allure to her what she paints on her fingertips. Her latest manicure was no different.

On March 2, Peltz Beckham shared a short and cheeky photodump to Instagram showing off what looked to be a fun night out with her husband, Brooklyn, before Victoria Beckham’s big Paris Fashion Week fashion show. What nails fit the occasion? A beautifully classic chocolate brown manicure.

Done by her go-to manicurist, Zola Ganzorigt, each of her nails matched with a medium length and almond shape, as well as color. Not quite the latte brown shade that was popular for much of 2023, and more minimal than the multi-hued “Box of Chocolate” manicure that inspired hundreds of people last summer, this manicure was the perfect dark chocolate shade. The rich, decadent hue, which we’ve always considered a neutral, paired nicely with Peltz’s all-black outfit.

The black look in question consisted of a tight-fitting black crop top with wavy hemlines and matching tight-fitting suit pants. She accessorized her ensemble with a white shoulder bag and simple jewelry and lined her eyes with a dark black liner.

Lucky for us, copying her chocolate mani is easy enough for even the least talented nail artist to recreate perfectly.

First, as with any nail look, remove any lingering nail polish with remover. Then, cut and file your nails to the desired length and shape—this would also be the time to apply any tips or press-on if you want. After that, buff the surface for an even nail bed before applying your favorite base coat.

After your nails are prepped, it’s time for color. Though you can use any brown lying around in your collection, we recommend OPI’s Not Afraid of the Dark ($15) or Hermès’ Brun Bistre ($57) if you are in the market for one that is exactly like Nicola’s. Regardless, finish off with a high-shine top coat, and your nails will be as sweet as can be.
