Rita Ora’s Silver French Manicure Is a Masterclass In Subtle Sparkle

It seems as though we are in the midst of a major blingy French manicure moment. In the past few weeks alone, classic French manis with a shimmering touch have been spotted on celebrities everywhere. Ice Spice was early to the trend with her Y2K charm-encrusted pink French, then came Sydney Sweeney’s diamond-covered French and Kerry Washington’s rhinestone French manicures. Now, Rita Ora is the latest to put some shimmer on her French nails, and we are obsessed.

On March 13, Ora posted a photo dump on Instagram celebrating episode two of The Masked Singer, for which she is the latest addition to the judging panel. This episode, Ora channeled Dorothy of The Wizard of Oz to judge an episode themed around the classic film. Of course, her pigtail braids, ruby red heels, and cutesy denim set were the perfect homage to the iconic character, but we were much more concerned with the Tin Man-inspired nails she paired with the look.

Short and almond-shaped, each of Ora’s nails started as every French manicure does. From cuticle to tip, Ora’s fingertips were covered in an ultra-glossy skin-matching polish. The glossy base had a slight pink tinge that complimented her heavy flush of blush. Then, the tips of her nails were glistening with silver glitter. Almost as if she dip-dyed her fingertips, the silver glitter accented the very ends of each nail right in line with how her natural tips would have formed. The silver glitter was ultra-fine and bright—heavily reflecting the flash of her cameras during the shoot.

Once we were done oogling over her nails, we realized the rest of the look was just as worthy of appreciation, especially the hair and makeup. Ora parted her hair down the middle then braided her hair into fishtail braids before stoping after a couple inches, tying a bow on each, and letting the rest of the pigtails flow free.

As for the makeup, it was just what strawberry makeup would look like in the land of Oz. With a blurred, perfected base, Ora applied a heavy application of bright red blush. The blush was high on her cheekbones and blended up towards her hairline, and she accentuated the look even more with faux freckles speckled across her nose and cheeks. The finishing touches were a bright strawberry red lip, a red-toned smoky eye, and some long fluttering lashes. Oh, and a fake Toto the dog to match.
